Universal healthcare

In Estonia, nearly 5% of people lack permanent health insurance, which is a problem for the entire society. We must strive towards expanding health insurance coverage to everyone, reaching universal health insurance, which is widespread in the European Union. Only this way can we ensure that our people receive necessary health services in a timely manner, regardless of their income. Universal health insurance helps increase the number of healthy years of life, prevents health issues from getting worse and later, much more expensive treatments. It will also help improve people’s work capacity, thereby contributing to the economy and the state budget. This is not an expense measure, but a forward-looking and rewarding investment in people’s health.
